1984 was a momentous year for the College, with the admission of women as undergraduates to Pembroke.

The year is now coming together to stamp its influence on the Mill Lane project, by raising money to fund Café 84.

Situated in “Stuart House”, the old University careers service, Café 84 will be the social hub of the Mill Lane site. A place where students – and other members of the College – can go to relax and meet friends over a cup of coffee and a sandwich, or nip into a quieter area to read in peace and quiet.

The 1984 year group are aiming to raise £840,000, they only need to hit £210,000 to reach their target. Thanks to a generous matching donation from a member of the year, and the Dolby family matching £1 for £1 any donation made to the Mill Lane Project before the end of 2022, they are closing in on their target.

The year’s push is being led by Joanna Prior and Raymond Nasr, who are hoping that the year will hit their target by the time that work begins in Stuart House in September this year. All donors will have their name listed on a special board in the café.

If you would like to learn more about the project, please contact the Development Office. Alternatively, 1984 alumni can make a gift via this webpage (please select the ‘Mill Lane Buildings’ option).
